Who may participant

Imagine Cup is an international competition is open to students around the world,at least 16 years of age as of 2 October 2018 and are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees (including home schools) at any time between 25 July 2018 and 31 May 2019.

Imagine Cup is a student developer global competition that empowers the next generation of computer science students to team up and use their creativity, passion and knowledge of technology to create applications that shape how we live, work and play.

The Imagine Cup Competition seeks to honor the most innovative, ground-breaking and appealing software built with Microsoft tools and technology.

Conditions of Entry:

  1. Up to three (3) eligible students may submit a single entry as a team,
  2. Team members may come from different academic institutions and from different countries,
  3. Each Team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork. In no event will sponsor officiate in any dispute regarding the conduct or cooperation of any Team or its members,
  4. In no event will work-on-behalf of teams or individuals be allowed,
To enter Round 1


  • Round 1 – Regional Semifinals and/or Local Events,
  • Round 2 – Regional Finals,
  • Round 3 – World Championship,

Microsoft 2019 Imagine Cup Competition is free to enter.


  1. Regional Finals Prizes:
    1. First place: USD15,000 and a spot in the World Championship,
    2. Second place: USD5,000,
    3. Third place: USD1,000,
  2. World Championship Prizing:
  3. 1st place teams from the Regional Finals will advance to the World Championship (date and location to be announced) and compete for the grand prize of USD100,000 + Azure Grant.
